My best dredging outting so far. East Cadron Arkansas
This was one of my best gold catches yet here. Good 12 or so piece clean out. After I posted it I didn't realize I had put the wrong blue bowl cut at the end it was from another cleanup. I guess some how I saved that one over the original. This software is tricky, I'll watch before I post to youtube for now on.

John you just fed my need !!! Id suggest that you put your footvalve into a bucket that has been drilled full of small (3/16)holes to help prevent sucking sand into your pump and ruining the seal or worse yet the pump. Nice looking creek!

I actually had one bungeed to it when I first got there. At some point it came undone and washed down creek and never found it. That's actually the second time that has happened so far. It really is a great creek to practice dredging and figuring everything out before I go some where that there is good gold.

One of these days the water will go back down and Ill be able to get my 2 inch dredge out there to try it. In the mean time im looking to buy another 4 inch and another two inch dredge plus a highbanker and other misc. equipment and will need to do a road trip to do it! plus im building a 5 inch sub-dredge of my design because I want to and I have all the parts / time to do it! and if it don't workout , Ill atleast be able to say I tried!

John,
When you gonna get out next? We have 2 inches of snow on the ground here at the house and 15F for the low this morning. Up to 23F now.
However, I bet things are totally frozen there in Arkansas...
Maybe do some Civil War metal detecting?
I'd love to see a Trip Report of some sort from out your way....

Well John and all , Ive stopped working on my light weight 2 inch dredge so I could use the pontoons (and extra pontoons) for my 5 inch subbie. I recentlt bought me friends (Leonard Leeper) 4 inch Keene and a 2 inch Keene plus a lot more eguipment and Ive switched the Gold Hog mats over to the 2 inch Keene and ordered the Gold Hog mats for the 4 inch while I was at it. The 2 inch Keene dredge NOW has ALL the options for it. Crash box sluice , flaired sluice , different types of mats and the same engine pump that John has. NOW I just got to get out this Spring / Summer with it all. My new GH mat should be here any day for the fitting into the 4 inch sluice.

Subsurface dredge!! I have been wanting to make one of those for about 25 years but never made one. Please let us know how it turns out. Seems to me a great way to remove low-paying over-burden to get to bedrock. Once there, I would probably go back to my regular dredge, but who knows. Anyway, good luck on that construction.

Dave,
Seems Russ recently has decided to sell off most all his prospecting equipment..............and THEN is out looking at designing and building a HUGE dredge barge...
Maybe look for another thread here on the Forum with Russ in it...
I tell Russ to bail on "Misery" and move herre to BV. He hasn't yet...

Yes, if he moved to BV, he could gold prospect almost every day, weather and water levels permitting.
