Back in Colorado...
Hey everyone,
Just got back in from 10 days in Iowa doing the RAGBRAI 7 day ride across Iowa with my sweet wife.....Dee.
We got rained on twice, had 2 SMIKIN' ass hot days of 95F and 97F with 60% humidity and a heat index of 109F and 112F, wet damp/dew every morning...…...and we did it all camping on the ground and moved everyday... Ugh...
Sweet Dee rode 510 miles and I supported the Air Force Cycling Team of 143 total personnel (15 support and 128 riders) by helping load/unload, setup tents, canopies, tables, shower tents, shower bags, coolers, water stations, on and on...
GLAD to be home to the land of no bugs, LOW humidity, a hot shower and SOFT bed!!!
I see the Ark's dropped from 2,300 CFS to 1,160 CFS. Nice... Me and some gold prospecting buddies have a 2 week suction dredging adventure planned here from 16 thru 30 August...……...IF...…………….the Ark drops to 800 CFS or below. We'll see...
Hope "you all" got lots of gold while I was away sweating my ass off and getting sun burned...

Re: Back in Colorado...
That was quite a ride this year. Dee did a hard ride to Keokuk this year. They went South this year and kind of doubled back a little to get to the end point. It's been hot here this summer and we went from winter to summer with about a week of spring. Time to relax and get ready to do it again - MAYBE? If she wants to beat herself up suggest she try the BIX 7 --- https://bix7.com/ ----It is a tough run and very hilly on pavement. Some times the two events end in Davenport together. You can give here a pat on the back from me for a job well done. Have a good time dredging.

Re: Back in Colorado...
Russ,
HA! Not really....
Think I'll move to Texas... For now...
Kolorado has been destroyed by the godless, Commie, Liberal, Homo, criminal & illegal loving over real U.S. citizens Democrats...
Yet another new hell on earth. Satan, drugs, immorality reign supreme here...
Sick, sad, disgusting...
Heavy pans to you!

Hi Randy:
You telling anyone what part of Texas your moving to? Anyway, I hope the move works out well for you and Dee. Take care of yourself and I hope you still get to do a little panning out in CA.

Re: Back in Colorado...
Dickb,
The plan is to move to the New Braunfels area......about 25 miles or so Northeast of San Antonio...
House hasn't sold yet here in High Kolorado. Hopefully soon.....
Heading out to Kalifornia 3 thru 11 September for my annual gold prospecting family reunion and to visit with my sisters & Mom... Hope to get a few days on the NF American River and the SF Yuba River too!

Re: Back in Colorado...
Thanks for the reply. I hope the CA trip is great and you find that 1 ouncer nugget. Gold prices are rising so maybe we'll hear about more action. Always good to have quality time with the family.

Re: Back in Colorado...
Russ,
David Bryce? Cool... I'll write his name down in my "book of life" calendar and say "Hi" for you if I ever meet/see him down there...
Just got back from 8 days out in Kalifornia visiting my Mom, sisters and cousin.
Worked mostly my Mom's & sisters cars & trucks, and wood splitting for Mom, but I did get up to Washington for some gold panning over that weekend on the SF Yuba and spend a couple hours out on Mineral Bar on the NF American.
Got a few flakes & specks on the Yuba and all sorts of junk at Mineral Bar metal detecting for that elusive nugget.
Still, great weather, fun too.
My house here in Kolorado still hasn't sold, so I am here for now. Go to Texas on the 25th for 12 days.
The Ark's down low here now. At 235 CFS right now, so more of a big creek than a river. MIGHT try and go do some sample panning soon for a spot to sluice on a buddy's claims here... We'll see...
God bless,
Randy C-17A

Re: Back in Colorado...
I'm really surprised you haven't sold your home ! It is very nice looking and a ideal location. Years back I would have loved to make a offer if it were up for sale back then BUT right now I'm just to beat up and old (F.O.G.)to make any moves anymore !

Re: Back in Colorado...
Russ,
Ha. Thanks...
We too are VERY surprised as well it's not sold yet...
Properties like this one are truly rare and only come on the market every 15 to 30 years.
It's ideal, got big game all over, trees, close to town, no covenants, county plowed road, on and on and on...
So, we'll maybe drop the price a little, just to get more viewing and interest....

Raney:
I think the housing market is pretty dead right now with all the uncertainty going on in Washington. Mortgage rates are really low and that certainly is not keeping people away. Christmas in the next market push so we'll cross our fingers and hope somebody falls in love with it.
