Colorado -- Cache Creek with Mom & Sister Judy -- 29 Jul 2015
Hey Gold Adventurers...
Just reliving another GREAT day out in the hills, panning & sluicing up at Cache Creek, Colorado, with my 80 year old Mom and twin sister Judy...
We hit my favorite little dig spot in the trees, had JUST enough water flowing to sluice with my favorite Le Trap sluice.
Here's my Mom and twin sister Judy:
As the Summer progressed the available water started to slow and become low flow. Still, we could sluice our 1/2 inch classified dirt:
Here's our dig spot, in the shade for the most part:
Here's Judy diggin' some gold bearing material and doing a sample pan:
Our sluice setup in the shade. There were some hungry mosquitos to fend off:
A rare shot of me, in my element:
Well, after about 4 total hours, and a short lunch I think we'd team sluiced about 25 2 1/2 gal pails of dirt. Was time to cleanup the Le Trap, head home. Very NICE to see so much Cache Creek gold in our riffles!
Here's several pics of our chunky gold. Ended up being a very nice .81 grams or 12.5 grains:
So, despite the mosquitos, we had a truly GREAT family day prospecting......me, my Mom and twin sister.
Hope you too get out, have some fun, create a memory and post a Trip Report here on the GA Forum.

Very nice gold there, Randy. You always seem to do well at Cache Creek, on the Arkansas, Georgia, Kalifornia--any where.
What's the Ark like now?

Hi Randy:
Always fun to see the exploits we undertake. On the shortest day of the year, it's nice to look back on past adventures and enjoy them again.
Stay warm and keep checkin off the days till Spring.

Would be willing to give up some of my blood for those hungry mosquitoes if I could only get back on Cache Creek today. It is going to be a long snowy/cold winter and I'm ready to go now!

Dave,
Well...........once again 4 below zero this morning.....and under 1+ feet of snow here at my house, so the Ark & Cache Creek will be way to frozen, white to try and play anytime soon... Been colder this year and earlier than in the past two cold winters... 17 Dec -- 2 degrees; 19 Dec -- 9 degrees; 21 Dec -- 14 degrees; 24 Dec -- 2 degrees; 26 Dec -- 9 below zero; 27 Dec -- 14 below zero; 28 Dec -- 4 below zero; 29 Dec -- 4 below zero!
In years past, before all this Global Warming B.S. we'd have relatively snow free Decembers and I could hit both Cache Creek & the Ark to prospect even in the dead of winter... Today the roads are impassable with snow.
Chief,
Ha. Yes..........I am 110% with ya on wanting to get OUT of the house, have some hard fun, even feed a few mosquitoes up at Cache Creek.... Might be a while. So, here's a few pics of us up there on 29 May 2014.....me, you and Wayne:
Let's do it again soooooooooooon!
