Colorado -- Sluicing Cache Creek with Ron -- 12 July 2017
Hey Gold Adventurers...
Trying out a new image hosting site here...
Ron and I decided to hit Cache Creek, dig some dirt, feed our hungry Le Trap sluices on Wednesday, 12 July 2017.
We met at 7 AM and by 7:30 AM we were in business.
Still have good snow melt water off the main creek channel to sluice in the shade. Randy's sluice up and running:
Ron sluicing:
Ron taking a break. Feeding himself and a bunch of blood thirsty mosquitoes:
Randy's dig spot. Very hard material to pick, screen and carry to the sluice:
Ron in his "Man Cave" hole:
Randy's sluice in downstream spot after lunch. Decided to give up on my dig spot, shovel in all the tailings direct and "mine the miner's" for any lost gold in the water flow bottom:
Randy's Cache Creek gold. Got about 1/3rd of a gram of nice, chunky yellow gold:

I made one short video after lunch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjOXSj6LJpo
So, if it wasn't for the dang mosquitoes, it would have been a near perfect day!
Hope you get out on a "Gold Adventure" of your own soon...

Russ,
Ha. Thanks for looking...
What's really odd is that on Tinypic.com, where I uploaded the pictures.......to see how their service works (or not)........it seems to have cropped them on the right side somewhat when they are displayed.
Also, really odd that it uploaded the picture of Ron sideways, and I can't yet find any way to rotate the image back to vertical.
Hmmm...
May need to find yet another hosting service.

Randy , I wouldn't worry about the picture of Ron being sideways..........it's obvious to me that he was digging into a hillside

Russ,
Went back one more time to try and "rotate" Ron's picture... No way I can see/find.
Uploaded the pic again and it still auto rotates it to it's side. Hmmm...
Saw too that TinyPic.com is a part of PhotoBucket. NO wonder it sucks just as bad.... All the popup ads, long running scripts, crap...

Hey Randy, I noticed the right side was not showing and at first, thought it was me having too large a screen size. However, that was not the problem. Still, get some of the idea of what is going on. Looks like nice gold (isn't it all ?).
I do hope you can get the photo part fixed.

Dave,
When I go to TinyPic.com and I look at my uploaded pictures in the album, they all look fine........equal centering.....but, when you link to them, it seems to crop off the right side on all of them..
Also, it uploaded Ron sideways even though he's "upright" in my picture on my computer. No way to rotate it I can find.
So, TinyPic is a user unfriendly site...

Randy, when I saved the picture of the gold locally, it saved the entire picture and I could see all the chunky, beautiful Cache Creek gold. So something is strange. Maybe you have to give the picture a "box" to load into on the Forum?
When I saved the sideways picture of Ron, it still saved to my hard drive sideways, but I could then turn it 90 degrees. He is standing in a fairly deep hold, well over 5 feet!

Dave,
Ron was up there 3 days...
Last I heard he only has 1 day's cons cleaned up so far...
Maybe soon we'll get the numbers and pics.

Wow! I wish I had 3 days to spend washing gold; for that matter, even one. But the next two are taken up with medical appointments in Denver for Dotty. Seems like she has had something every week as they continue to do tests and tests and more tests. Tomorrow we should see how all those mesh together and how the docs plan to proceed. Who knows, with fairly good news, I might get a day off next week.

Dave,
Ha. Well............you do know the "Chief" is actually retired Air Force.........and is a Class-B Bachelor for most of July as his wife is in Kalifornia visiting family.
So, he's got time right now, since she's gone, when he's not working at Wal-Mart. Speaking of Wal-Mart, he's leaving them soon too, SO he'll then have a lot more time............when not working on the "Honey-Do" list to mine Cache Creek!
Hope your test soon ID a cause and lead to a quick cure for Dotty.
We need to get you up here someday soon, wash some dirt too!
