whens the last time you did a complete clean up on your dredge?

Well after getting home with Leonards 4 inch dredge that I bought ,I had promised him Id do a complete clean up and send him the results. WOW when I get done panning all of it out I try to post a picture. The area between the flair and where it connects to the alum sluice is a sweetheart of a location for gold to get trapped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Leonard had 1 of the bolts broke that have the wing nut to adjust the flairs angle and there was a additional gap there and it had paced with small flacks of gold. while I was trying to remove the flair I saw these flacks dropping out into my tube. I also beat out all the carpets in several more pieces of equipment and will pan them down as well. Im takeing pictures as I go and WOW am I impressed..............................

Well it appears to me that nobody has done this or is just to busy dredgeing and getting gold.

Clean mine every year .You would be suprised as to what comes out.

SO, I guess you were "mining the miners" here? Ha. Hopefully you told Leonard "thank you"!

How much did you eventually get out of that "clean up"? Got any pics?

Since I now use Vortex matting or GH matting, well............no miner's moss or carpets anymore to beat to death...

That was the agreement I made to Leonard before I even drove out to Colorado! Every nook & cranny had some gold in the equipment that I bought . I didn't do a complete cleanup of the gold , I wanted to leave him with a little to finish off the gold and I didn't take any pictures of it either , BUT he got about 1/4 OZ from all the equipment .4 in. dredge ,2 in. dredge , Mini highbanker ,Promack sluice ,gutter sluice , plus about 2 gallons of cons. It put a smile on his face when he got it!

Don't forget there was a bucket of cons in there to "boost" the gold count!!
