Colorado -- Cache Creek Sluicing with Ron -- 8 June 2016
Hey Gold Adventurers...
Well, I hit the hills back on Wednesday, 8 June 2016, with my gold prospecting buddy Ron and we had yet another fun and rewarding (and tiring) day sluicing for some Cache Creek gold...
We got an early start, as the day promised to be in the mid to upper 70s and being out in the blazing sun, we wanted to get as much dirt dug and sluiced before it got too hot.
The creek is coming up fast as the snow melt up on Quail Mountain to the West is in full swing now. Nights above freezing and warm, sunny days...
Ron & I both ran our green plastic drop riffle Le Trap sluices.......they're #1 in my book for fine, fine gold capture.
We dug material up in the dry gulch, carried buckets.
We stopped for lunch about noon and I enjoyed my smoked turkey sandwich & chips. Then, back to more buckets... In all I was able to dig & wash 24 mostly full 2 1/2 gal. pails of dirt, before I pooped out, decided to call it good for the day.
Here's a bunch of pics showing the creek, our sluice setups and dig spot in the gulch:
I made & uploaded 1 video, as we started our day: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiKqR2geoNY&feature=youtu.be https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiKqR2geoNY&feature=youtu.be
Hope you get out soon too, create a great gold prospecting memory, find some gold. Then, come back here, post a Trip report for all to enjoy.
O.K. Here's the gold I got:
Turns out to be 6.5 grains or .42 grams of very pretty, very flaky Cache Creek gold. One nice big flake too.

Hi Randy:
Another fine day of "Hard Fun". Sure beats sitting in the house watching TV.
Nice place to dig, wouldn't it be great to run a Cube there.

Sir:
Had a great day, I ended up running 14 buckets at the Gulch, still working to get the cons cleaned up. I didn't separate mine by day, so the rest of my 88 total buckets were run at your Red Berm and "No Name Creek". Will update later with mine and Ralph's total weight and a picture. Thanks for being a great host and as always enjoyed the 4 day camping trip, however that shower sure felt good when I got home......
