New spot on the Cadro Empty New spot on the Cadro

Post by JOHNIFLY Mon Nov 28, 2016 7:03 pm

I found a new place to access the East Cadron and its only 15 minutes away. Totally different rock more round than flat like by the house. Sand looks more like Colorado has more black sand than by the house. I also have changed out to Gold Hogg matts, Talon and scrubber. This new place had one +20 mesh piece which is my biggest piece for here yet. It did not go thru the blue bowl screen. I cant wait to go back. I may have to freeze my butt off, but its been raining here for the last two day and the Cadron is flowing really good right now. See what the weather does and go from there.

Make sure you drain that pump if its freezing out! My old 4 inch dredge I drilled a hole in the bottom of the pump housing and installed a 1/4 inch valve to drain it and / or to flush the pump. that alum. breaks fairly quickly when its freezing out.

John,

Well...............GREAT news that you may have a closer and better spot on the creek to prospect! Wink

Less time wasted driving and walking back & forth means MORE time shoveling & sluicing material for more gold... The higher level of black sand is a very good sign of heavies and hopefully gold collecting in that area, section of the creek over the years...

Hope you get a LOT of gold! Let us know if this new spot "pans out". Ha! Very Happy

We had 1.1F below zero here for the low, so NO prospecting for me.... Still have some snow on the ground too...

Randy,
That first outing was close to the road and the water was cold very cold. Not even the best places on the creek. I really expected it to be a bust. I know I should maybe double my take here which is good. Yes its getting cold here so prospecting is out for a little while here as well. I have panned and panned that creek and not one time have I ever seen any color in it. LOL!! I jus ordered me a Martin water table today. Cant wait to get it..

John maybe you just need to dredge DEEPER ! I liked to use my ole 2 inch Proline dredge (that I sold some years back ) to start my hole and when its big enough I bring in my 4 inch.

John,

Any Cadro updates? Gone out sluicing lately? Just set up your Le Trap, shovel in the material.....see what you get! Wink That's what I do sometimes....

....the more I shovel in the great odds of gettin' SOME color. Ha.

Stay warm, stay dry for the most part... I was out here recently in the snow & ice sluicing:
