Colorado -- More Snow!

Hey Gold Adventurers,

Well.................winter is FAR from over here in "High" Kolorado...

Glad Matt & I got out, onto the Ark for a little panning & sluicing ops last Saturday.  I posted a Trip Report FYI here under "Western Gold States".

Just when most the ground around here was mostly melted off, clear.....we got another 3 inches last night:






The good thing is it's a wet, heavy snow and with it up to 34 degrees outside and sunny, it hopefully will melt in fast.............like 3 or 4 days.

Can't wait to get back on the Ark, get some more GOLD!

It started snowing here at about 2:00 AM and its comeing down light BUT we will see how it turns out!

Ha. Well...........expect it to get cold once the storm passes...

The storm blew thru last night and it got clear and cold. The moon is about full and last night, with the moonlight reflecting off all the snow on the ground, it's looked like midday out there! Made it hard to sleep. I kept thinking I was seeing car headlights shining on my bedroom windows!

I got up at 5:30AM and it was a brisk 2.6 degrees outside.

The temp kept falling until about sunrise at 7 AM we hit exactly 0.0 degrees. I thought we MIGHT go negative, but never did. So, it's sunny out but cold. The wind is whipping the powder snow up on top of the 13ers & 14ers into snow clouds and blowing some off the tops.





So, I'll just stay indoors today in my Man Cave and enjoy my smokin' hot wood stove.

Brrrr..... Wow, looks cold and white there! California has been cool, even wet and rainy this winter.

Can't wait to see you in September for our annual family reunion & gold prospecting adventure...
