What We Did in WW II
Hey Gold Adventurers,
A little WW II trivia below. Sad today that we have given up our capability to manufacture most anything in this country... Besides Boeing jets, Harleys and a few appliances, we sure don't make much anymore. What is stamped "Made in the USA"? Almost nothing!
Today, we're a "service sector" economy serving coffee lattes and cleaning dirty carpets, with 70+% of the economy driven by consumer debt and personal consumption spending. We've run a negative balance of trade deficit for decades. It wasn't always this way...

In large part I blame the eco-Nazis that have take complete control of the EPA and other government agencies and have made it IMPOSSIBLE to mine or manufacture anything in the USA. So, companies fled overseas, jobs fled overseas. I also blame big government rules, regulations and B.S./red tape that makes it too costly and basically impossible to build/manufacture anything. Today the federal "government" bureaucracy has grown to the point it saps over $2 TRILLION in economic activity PER YEAR, as businesses spend that much to "pay" for B.S regulations & red tape.

Obama just VETO'd the bill from Congress trying to roll back the EPA's Waters of the United States ruling, basically claiming complete power & control (in cahoots with the Army Corps of Engineers) for every single drop of water in the U.S. Now, every non-navigable waterway, creek, stream, river, every bog, marsh, seasonal ditch, every lake, pond, marshland & wetland is THEIR private property.....not yours.

Obama's EPA is going to release new, tougher Ozone "rules" as law too, that is specifically targeted at killing the oil & gas drilling industry, but will hurt ALL manufacturers and businesses. It's called the most expensive government regulation in U.S. history, expected to cost $1.7 trillion in lost GDP and kill 1.4 million more jobs and cost consumers on average $830 per family per year:

SO, if you ever wonder why we suck............make nothing...........thank the extreme environmentalists & Democrats. Both love big government & abuse of power to enforce their agendas.

During the 3-1/2 years of World War II that started with the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor in December of 1941 and ended with the surrender of Germany and Japan in 1945, "We the People of the U.S.A. " produced the following:
22 aircraft carriers
8 battleships
48 cruisers
349 destroyers
420 destroyer escorts
203 submarines
34 million tons of merchant ships
100,000 fighter aircraft
98,000 bombers
24,000 transport aircraft
58,000 training aircraft
93,000 tanks
257,000 artillery pieces
105,000 mortars
3,000,000 machine guns and
2,500,000 military trucks
We put 16.1 million men in uniform in the various armed services, invaded Africa, invaded Sicily and Italy, won the battle for the Atlantic, planned and executed D-Day, marched across the Pacific and Europe, developed the atomic bomb and, ultimately, conquered Japan and Germany.....getting victory (a word never used anymore) and unconditional surrender over our enemies.

Re: What We Did in WW II
The rules of engagement in WWII and should be today, but aren’t:
1. Find the enemy.
2. Destroy the enemy.
3. Minimize loss of American lives.
4. Minimize collateral damage.
5. Rule #4 never takes precedence over rules 1, 2, and 3.
