Second trip

Gave our dredging spot a second try.  I drove up on a FridAY morning.  Got there at 7:30, unloaded, and was dredging by 8:30. Went straight to the inside bend / island that has proven good gold.  Ran 5 hours , motored back to the camp, tied dredge and boat off and drove home to a home-cooked meal and my bed.  Got up Saturday morning , drove back to camp , and started dredging. Quit around 2 . Loaded up and got home by suppertime.  My partner did the tent thing with no problem.  It was almost cool so he did not need the air conditioner. Picked up a few tricks to getting in and out of the water.  Backed my boat with the dredge strapped in it to within 50 feet of the water.  It slid down the dirt ramp with only a little pushing.  At load out I used 70 feet of 2 inch strap and pulled the whole rig up to the level campsite. No worry about a two wheel drive stuck on the ramp.  Then I winched it up on the boat trailer.  No sweat!!   Nice to have things go right for a change.  oh yea, I got 4 grams  in 8 hours with my 3 inch dredge, partner got 8 grams with his 4 inch.  What  if I had bought that 5 inch Gold Grabber ??

Very sorry I didn't see this post until now... Loved the video. Especially the under water dredging parts... Love that sound of rocks clinking & banging inside the nozzle as you suck up all that gold bearing material!

Sadly, under snow & ice now here in pot smokin' "High" Kolorado.....for the winter.

Can't wait for Spring and the thaw and to get back to dredging in early April on a buddy's claim here locally. That water WILL be ice cold, but we located a big gravel bar with loads of black sand and decent color to try out.....before the May/June snow melt floods start...
