Finding the forum page? Empty Finding the forum page?

Post by Gold Seeker Mon Nov 30, 2015 4:59 pm

Randy,

After I joined I had a difficult time finding the "forum" e.g. the page with the various forum sections, I clicked on "Home" after registering and validating my registration, but I got a page that said "This board has no forums", the only way I could find the page with the forum sections was to search your posts and found the page via the search, which I then bookmarked that page, I'm not sure if it's only me or if everyone will be having the same issue, if everyone has the same issue you will not have anyone reading or posting!! affraid

Skip

P.S. I also just tried this link "Gold Adventures LLC Forum" that is at the top after posting and got the "This board has no forums" page, the other link "Gold Adventures Forums" will take you to the correct page.

Also because of these broken links, especially the "Home" link if I or a member goes to his/her profile, memberlist, or other page/s links the only way to get back to the forum is to click the "back" button on their browser several times or use the correct link in their bookmarks if they have it bookmarked correctly.

P.S. I also found that this link is broken as well "Click here to return to the Index"

Finding the forum page? Empty Finding the Forum...

Post by Admin Mon Nov 30, 2015 6:17 pm

Skip,

Hmmm............ Odd and disturbing... Embarassed

Believe it or not, setting up the "new" GA Forum sure wasn't as easy or intuitive as you'd hope it would be...

I tried over and over to follow their step by step instructions.............like to the letter...........and kept getting endless "warnings" and "not allowed" messages. Finally, I had to create all the Forums/threads under a "Basket"...

I have tried hard to populate each thread with at least one or two starter posts to get the ball rolling...

Whenever I log in as the "admin" it always seems to take directly to the Forum home page, where you can see all the threads....wonder why you had such a hard time.

O.K. Bummer. Crap. I'll try to maybe login on my wife's computer soon and see if I can "see" what you and maybe everyone else is seeing, or not...

Thanks for coming over, trying hard, finally getting "in". Very Happy

Finding the forum page? Empty Re: Finding the forum page?

Randy,

I had to log-in to see your reply, even though I always check the "Stay log on" option when logging in, after loggin in it took me to the "Home" page which as mentioned in my above post has nothing on it, I had to use my bookmarked link to get to the forum index.

You may need to contact forum support to get help with getting this issue resolved, if no one else posts anything soon, it will be a indication that everyone else is having the same issue, which I think is the case, I see that several members have visited the forum within the last 12 hours and have not posted anything yet since joining the same day you posted on other forums, 3 of those members are Russau, DickB, and Cowboy 444, I'm pretty sure that Russ and Dick would have posted by now if they weren't having the same issue of not getting to the forum index, if the issue isn't fixed soon many may get frustrated and not make a habit of visiting the forum frequently as one would like.

P.S. Randy I just visited Gold Dredgers forum to see what was being said about your new forum and it seems that some think you haven't got the forum "built" yet, which was my first impression,  Russ was/is having problems logging in and Dick apparently is having the same issues I was seeing, he said....., so in the meantime you may want to post on all the forums you announced the new forum on letting everyone know there's an issue that needs to be fixed.

"Hi Russ:

You are registered now but Randy has not got the forum built yet.

Here is the link to bookmark and you can delete Randy's old forum link, it's gone to forum heaven!

Just open the link and login then you can edit your profile and add an avatar.

Good luck.

Finding the forum page? Empty Finding the Forum...

Post by Admin Tue Dec 01, 2015 5:59 am

Dickb, Skip, et al...

Well bummer it 's not easy to "find the Forum"...

I have to leave shortly to drive my sweet wife to Denver for an eye exam.

I'll be gone most all day, but will TRY and get with the Forum hosting support folks ASAP and try and resolve. Bummer.

I Login each time and instantly get to the Basket and all the threads, like it's "all there" and easy ti instantly see after Login. Obviously not the case for others not the "Admin" to the Forum...

Thanks everyone! Hang in there! I'll try to resolve ASAP!

Dickb,

Well..........I am not sure how to "add links to those pages"...

I am not a computer expert, or programmer by trade. I am just trying to work with what Forumotion.com gives me for free.

Hi Randy:

Well, everytime you get new software, there is a learning curve. I'm just trying to let you know what I see happening when I'm on the forum. Every glitch has a fix, but you need to know that you have a glitch before you can figure out how to fix it.

On the good side it looks like members are finding the site and registering. Now all you have to worry about is when will the Spammers find the new site. HA HA
