Hey Gold Adventurers...

I never enjoyed panning out my cons outside, either in the heat, humidity, sun or cold.....so, I developed an indoor panning system that I put in my kitchen sink.

It's a 10-gal tub, cocked at a 45 degree angle in the left side, and I wash my cons in my pan in the right side sink until clean, so as to not "pollute" my panning water with silt/clay.  In the water I use a big "glug" of JetDry rinse aid to prevent fine gold float/loss.

The 10-gal tub allows me to use a smaller 10 or 10 1/2 inch finishing pan.  Can't use a big 14 or 16 incher very well.  I recommend & use the Garrett's gravity trap 10 1/2 pan because of the small bottom and LONG sides. Control, finesse and patience are key to good cons panning. I normally pan only 1 tablespoon of cons at a time, use the "Backwash & Tap" method: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Cbiiohp5bQ

On my tub I have a clamp on light fixture with shroud, inside a big, bright 150W bulb.  I can adjust & angle it as needed to never be in my eyes and I can easily see even the tiniest speck of gold in the black sand.

Here's a few pics:

I stand on a nice, cushy rug, pan, sit the tub on the floor when not actively panning, clean the sink and...........wallah............fun, easy, comfortable to stand and pan and NO complaints from my super wonderful wife.

HTH,

well now is the time to setup my cleanup setup! Im finaly gathering my cleanup equipment to finaly finish my cons that I just never had time or just plainly forgot about over the years. I got all my cons (???) in one spot and after my knee replacement and when im able to move around safely , Ill go out to my shop and run all of these cons. Screening and running them seperatly all will take sometime (F.O.G.) and limping around plus being retired and did I say F.O.G.!Smile theres nothing big in there just fine stuff so ill have to go slow which is going to be real fast for me for awhile! Ill post some pictures as I do these!

Russ,

Well............good for you! Glad to hear you finally got your cleanup setup ..........well..............all setup! Wink What exactly is your "setup"? Got a Miller Table, mini sluice, bowl, wheel.....just a panning tub like me???

You mean you have cons just sitting there, just waiting to run???

Every time I get some it just kills me not know how I actually did, what's in them.........and so I usually burn thru them in VERY short order... Ha.

Anyways, GOOD LUCK on your upcoming knee replacement...............AND your time to work your cons. Can't wait to hear the surgery was a success and some pics of your gold you "harvested" out of your saved cons!

Russ,

Got it... IF you have a Gold Cube, well...............you're all set! Wink

I absolutely love mine and use it BOTH for in garage cons cleanups and on the stream production use with the Topper unit (or Gold Banker) as it's now called...

That Cube has served me extremely well, given the fine, fine placer gold I normally hunt here in pot smokin' "High" Kolorado......whether up at Cache Creek or in the Ark...

My Gold Adventures YouTube Channel has a fair number of Gold Cube videos on it, if you scroll back a few pages:
