Utah - American Fork
First post,
My find from this year in American Fork, Utah. Fine stuff, that's all -50, taken from my first hour sluicing with a stansport folding backpack sluice, gold hog matting. Ended the day with about a quarter gram.
This was the exact same spot I thought I had got skunked last year, as I was starting out. Big shout out to Randy for his expert cons. They really taught me how to "see" the gold. Those cons are exactly the same as what Utah has to offer!

Re: Utah - American Fork
Thanks! The cleanup gets tedious, backwash and bent eye dropper. But it gets it and isn't too bad when working small amounts like out of the cube or gold hog matting.
Wish I had a picture of the whole day run, but dried it and put it in the wrong vial. The amount there was just an hours worth through the gold hog mats to test out the spot. I'll tell you what, I won't mess with carpet or moss after using gold hog. On my 54" sluice, I get about a sniffer bottle worth of cons, could have ran all day without a cleanup, but that was the first trip with this set up and was fact checking myself.

Soon I also will be using my 2 dredges (4 & 2 )with Gold Hog mats. Ive got all the moss , carpets ETC. that can be used plus different riffles and sluices for different situations. BUT I (like you ) believe in this GH mats for my equipment and I will keep my o/u setup and riffles configurations as a comparison to the GH mat.

HtNRun,
Welcome to the Gold Adventures Forum as well!!!
Thanks for posting the report and pic. Nice gold there!
Glad my "Expert" panner bags helped you get your fine, fine gold ID and recovery skills going...
Now, to somehow dig up all your wife's flower beds and recover maybe some lost gold there???

P.S. For getting super fine gold up and out of black sand...........have you seen my "backwash & tap" panning video? It's what I use. Pan real small amount at a time too, use JetDry, like 1/2 teaspoon of black sand cons........more control, easier to see the gold, taps up faster too! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Cbiiohp5bQ
